Awards

In recognition of its extraordinary company and product development FELUWA has been subject to multiple high-ranking recognition and awards, such as:

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award 2017

FELUWA wins "Excellence in Best Practices" Award

FELUWA has been recognized with the 2017 “Global Diaphragm Pumps in Mining Product Line Strategy Leadership Award” by Frost & Sullivan. FELUWA was awarded the prize during the "Excellence in Best Practices" Awards Banquet in London on 23 October 2017.

The jury emphasized FELUWA's brand strength and the unique value of its products for worldwide customers. In his acceptance speech Managing Director Rudolf Gaensl expressed his thanks to the whole FELUWA staff for their personal commitment.

Award for Longest Running Time

A big coal  gasification player in China  was recently granted the longest running time award for the gasification process.

From Jan. 16, 2013 to June 10, 2014, that company’s gasification systems had been operating  continuously for an unprecedented  511 days, setting a world record for  the longest operating time on a gasification process.

The reliability and constant availability of coal gasification systems essentially depends on the efficiency and dependability of the pumping systems that are specified to feed the coal slurry under high pressure into the gasifiers. The gasifiers are equipped with FELUWA coal slurry pumps. The longest running time record reflects the extraordinary reliability and availability of FELUWA pumps.

Overwhelming evidence has shown that custom-tailored FELUWA  pumps are most advantageous for  gasifiers.

Congratulations to this FELUWA pump enduser!

Holkenbrink Award 2010

Only three weeks after being honoured by the PREMIER Award of the Grand Prix of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation FELUWA Pumpen GmbH has been recognised the HOLKENBRINK AWARD 2010 in Trier on 22nd October 2010. The award ceremony that was also attended by Prime Minister of the Land Rhineland Palatinate, Kurt Beck, took place in the Chamber of Crafts Trier (HWK).

The award that is named after Heinrich Holkenbrink, former Minister of Economic Affairs and Transport of Rhineland Palatinate, is jointly assigned by the Chamber of Crafts (HWK), the Chamber of Commerce (IHK), as well as the University and University of Applied Science of Trier and counts among the most prestigious awards in the country.

"This award recognises companies and individuals that had extraordinary influence on economic events within the area of Trier in the past years and decades", said HWK president Rudi Müller.

Kurt Beck, prime minister of the Land Rhineland Palatinate praised the overall economy in Rhineland-Palatinate, which had sustained its position throughout the crises, thanks to innovative spirit and good cooperation between employers and employees. The German economy is characterised by medium-sized companies with the strength of interaction and with the power of innovation which is admired worldwide. "The winners of 2010 set an excellent example", said the president of the Chamber of Commerce Trier, Peter Adrian.

Prof. Jörg Wallmeier, prexy of the University of Applied Science Trier, added that this is the kind of companies that is urgently required, because the area is still suffering from an insufficient number of highly qualified positions. "We want to team our local Hidden Champions and our promising students", he said. The Holkenbrink Award is of great importance. It brings economy and science together.

Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises 2010

The grand final of the 16th nationwide competition for the "Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises 2010" took place in Berlin on 30 October 2010 as part of the traditional federal ball. On this occasion, the Oskar Patzelt Foundation recognises outstanding entrepreneurial and SME promotion services by means of special awards (www.mittelstandspreis.com).

After three previous awards in 2006 (Finalist), 2007 (Laureate) and 2009 (Plaque of Honour) FELUWA Pumpen GmbH has now been honoured by the highest award. On the occasion of the federal ball at the Maritim Hotel Berlin Heinz M. Nägel, managing partner of FELUWA Pumpen GmbH, was awarded the PREMIER – Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises in a formal laudation.

Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises 2009

Another Award for FELUWA!
On the occasion of the Federal Ball held by the Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation on 24 October in Berlin, FELUWA was awarded the Premier Plaque of Honour 2009 in presence of approx.500 guests. After being awarded Finalist in 2006 and Laureate in 2007, the Plaque of Honour was the company’s third success in the competition for the Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises.
As per the impressive laudation the following criteria were decisive for the rating of the jury:

  • Strength and ability of innovation. A mere product improvement is not sufficient.
  • Percentage of new products in sales
  • Investments into new developments
  • Local commitment of the company under consideration of the employment market
  • Support of young talents
  • Marketing concept

Only former laureates who have continuously achieved outstanding results in terms of the above-mentioned criteria can be awarded a Plaque of Honour. The award to Heinz M. Nägel as managing partner of FELUWA is another milestone in a series of awards won by FELUWA in the past years.

Almost one year ago, the company was awarded the third prize in the category “Innovation & Technology” in the China Trader Award competition.

China Trader Award 2008

On 18 November 2008, China Trader Awards were conferred on the occasion of a ceremony in Frankfurt. FELUWA’s commitment in China was honoured by a third rank in the category "China Trader Award for Innovation & Technology".

The very impressive laudation on FELUWA particularly referred to FELUWA’s successful development and commitment in terms of process pumps for coal gasification. 28 out of a total of 32 coal gasification units being operated in China, are provided with a total number of 98 FELUWA pumps. By means of these pumps 6,191 m³/h of coal slurry are pumped at pressures of up to 110 bar. This coal slurry in turn allows for the daily production of 205.44 Mio. standard cubic metres of syngas (related to CO and H). FELUWA pumps are considered as key components of the individual facilities and none of them ever caused an emergency shutdown of the system.

Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises 2007

In recent years, the entrepreneurial middle class has created millions of new jobs in industry, trade and service and thus significantly contributed to future labor market development. With the annual competition for the Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises the Oskar Patzelt Foundation, based in Leipzig, would like to pay tribute not only to achievements in this area, but at the same time raise awareness of the economic importance of medium-sized enterprises.

In 2007, the competition was awarded for the 13th time since 1994. Nationwide a total of 3011 outstanding companies of all sizes, industries and forms of ownership have been nominated for the award by 1,298 municipalities, institutions and personalities for the award in demand, which has become the most important competition for German medium-sized enterprises since the first ceremony in 1995.

350 out of the 3,011 nominated companies were allotted to Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. For each region of the competition the judges of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation select up to five finalists and three winners. Nominated companies that have been assigned an award already are limited to the higher levels of the award: Finalists for the Prize; laureates for Premier Finalist, Premier Finalists for the Premier. End of September 2006, FELUWA Pumpen GmbH was awarded finalist and thus qualified this year for the competition for the “Oscar” winner.
In the assessment of the jurors numerous competitive criteria must be considered, such as the overall development of the company, the creation or safeguarding of jobs and apprenticeship training positions, modernisation and innovation, customer service, marketing or the regional commitment. In terms of FELUWA, the patented new design, means the MULTISAFE double hose-diaphragm process pump, contributed to an enormous corporate development with doubling the number of employees and tripling sales figures within 5 years.

Innovation is the recipe for success since then. 65 percent of FELUWA’s sales are relating to new products that have been developed during the last five years. A special technology center and accredited cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Trier provide impetus for more innovative ideas, such as the paste pump or a pump with downflow valves. Apprenticeship training positions are provided in five professions in order to achieve higher independence from the regional skills shortage.

At this year's competition, the figure 13 proved to be a lucky number FELUWA. In the 13th year of the competition, the company was announced as winner on 13 October in Würzburg. The formal presentation of the coveted so-called "Oscar" for Mr. Heinz M. Nägel, CEO of FELUWA, was embedded in a well-organized gala event at the Maritim Hotel. Dr. Ing Rüdiger Kaspers, Managing Director of FELUWA Pumps GmbH and CEO of the parent company ARCA Regler GmbH, could unfortunately not attend the event due to illness.

Among the miscellaneous awards and prizes that were awarded FELUWA in the last three years, the Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises take the highest rank. It is a symbol for extraordinary development of the entire company with approximately 100 employees.
In a staff meeting on 15th October 2007 CEO Heinz M. Nägel informed the employees about the success achieved, to which everyone has contributed in his own way. A delegation of Chinese clients attended this meeting as special guests.

The formal presentation of statue and certificate to Mr. Heinz M. Nägel was surrounded by a large gala event in the Maritim Hotel Würzburg.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are hardly noticed by the public. And yet it would look bleak in many regions without the middle class. For this reason, the Oskar Patzelt Foundation specifically acknowledges medium-sized enterprises as the hope and important economic factor by means of the competition for the so-called Oscar of the middle class.

Nominations are made by local authorities, institutions or personalities. FELUWA was proposed by the Ministry of Economy, Transportation, Agriculture and Viticulture in Mainz.

In 2006, a total of 2,790 companies and individuals were nominated. Out of these, 812 reached the second stage of the competition. After evaluation of the company's data twelve regionally organized juries with 100 jurors decided who would be honoured as finalist or winner of the Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises.

Innovative Medium-Sized Enterprises 2006

Chamber Award (Kammerpreis) and Enterprise Award (Unternehmerpreis) for innovative small and medium-sized companies

“Act - Motivate - Change” is the motto of the Enterprise Award for innovative small and medium-sized companies presented annually by the Voksbank and Raiffeisenbank financial institutions in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony and Thuringia. Competition cooperates with Chambers of Industry and Commerce and Chambers of Skilled Crafts (Handwerkskammern) to distinguish exemplary personalities in small and medium-sized enterprises.

  2. The grandiose development of the company
  3. The immense know-how which is also passed on to junior staff.

Also Elmar Schmitz, Chairman of Volksbank RheinAhrEifel, placed emphasis in his speech that the encouragement of the future is to be found in small and medium-sized enterprises and that Heinz M. Nägel already proved the courage and creativity to spur innovation.

Design prize Rhineland palatinate 2005

Another award has been received for MULTISAFE double hose-diaphragm by means of Design Prize recognition. At the heart of this pump are two hose-diaphragms which are arranged one inside the other and fully enclose the linear flow path of the fluid.

Under the aspect of providing the pump with a characteristic shape and colour scheme that harmonises shape and functional quality, it has been subject to a design measure in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Trier.

Part of the design modification is the utilisation of a support system that provides the pump a floating shape as well as a physical and optical lightness.

The design is supported by the colour that is reduced to two shades, which combine the technical character with live details. Shape and colour secure a high degree of originality and distinct recognition.
