Tailored pump for demanding medium

FELUWA is a well-known manufacturer of first-class displacement pumps for abrasive, aggressive and toxic media. For this reason FELUWA was chosen to supply a pump which is to handle a very demanding mixture of coal slurry with oil, benzene and toluol for a Chinese coal gasification plant.

The critical medium requires the use of special materials in order to guarantee resistance of the individual components. Not only the consistence of the conveyed medium, but also the maximum particle size of 6 mm posed a particular challenge.

The supplied MULTISAFE® double hose-diaphragm pump type
TGK 500 – 3 DS 350 DFT transports a volume of up to 312 m³/h at a maximum operating pressure of 86 bar and is designed with the unique FELUWA DownFlow Technology (DFT). This configuration literally turns the traditional pumping principle upside down, which means that the flow is directed from the top of the pump to the bottom, and makes use of gravity in order to avoid disadvantageous sedimentation. The cylindrical shape of the diaphragm with a maximum of linear flow lines panders to the flow behaviour, avoids the settling of solids and thus increases the overall efficiency.
