Wet oxidation

Wet oxidation is based on the principle of hydrothermal oxidation and is applied for the destruction of organics in wastewater and sludge. At high pressure (up to 220 bar) and high temperature (up to 320 °C) the thickened sludge is fed into an oxidation reactor. Inside the reactor the oxidation process for mineralization of organic substances will be initiated by means fo oxygen.

Wet oxidation is followed by a dewatering and drying process. Normally the chemicallly conditioned slurry is toxic, aggressive and containes the usual solids as well as fibrous elements.

Reactor feeding pumps require a particularly high amount of continuous delivery volume. Therefore double check valves represent vital, additional safety. In case a particle is temporarily stuck between valve ball and valve seat, the second valve ensures the sealing and prevents medium backflow.
